Newfield, N. Y. is located in the Finger Lakes Region in Central New York State. Newfield is a quiet little town, that lies between the
cities of Ithaca and Elmira.
Newfield is best known for its Covered Bridge, built in 1853. It is the oldest Covered Bridge still in daily use in New York State.
Teddy Roosevelt once spoke from the balcony of a hotel on Main St., that today is an
apartment building.
Newfield is about 58.88 square miles
in land with a population of about 86.76 people per square mile. In the
year 2000, the total population of Newfield was 5,108.
